Nakheel Begins Handover at Golden Mile

Nakheel has begun to handover units in the Golden Mile development on the Palm Jumeirah. The development consists of ten apartment buildings, with a total of 860 units. The development, which is a result of a JV between IFA Hotels & Resorts and Nakheel, is offering owners the opportunity to either move in to their units, or lease out their properties through IFA’s special leasing program. The Golden Mile is the second IFA project to be handed over, following the delivery of the Palm Residences in January 2008. IFA is also on track to deliver the Fairmont Palm Jumeirah Residences and Laguna Tower at Jumeirah Lake Towers

Dubai to Build World's Biggest Floating Hotel in London

The South Dock at Canary Wharf will soon be home to the world’s largest floating hotel in time for the 2012 London Olympic Games, courtesy of a Dubai businessman, Khalid Al Ghurair. Al Ghurair plans to build the world’s largest luxury yacht and moor it permanently off the South Dock in the River Thames. The floating hotel will offer five star luxury accommodation and breath taking views of the river and the Canary Wharf skyline. The mega yacht will be larger than the current world’s largest yacht, which is owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The yacht has been christened the Aquiva and will be able to accommodate 300 guests, who will be able to enjoy a taste of Dubai’s famed luxury lifestyle. The yacht will be built without an engine and will have to be towed into place, through a complex network of locks in the docklands, before it is permanently moored. Al Ghurair has plans to develop similar floating hotels across the GCC.
